5/24/2023 0 Comments Family finances babycenterHe takes out enough money for himself for 2 weeks for lunches or whatever is planned. Hubbys cheque goes into the joint account to cover everything else. Honestly right now because of maternity leave the money I get from that goes to my cellphone bill, groceries, baby needs, laundry (we don't have our own) and anything leftover stays in my account. Is there a couple that is raising a kid with a "ratio budget"? What do you do? I was planning talking to my husband today about it but he got sick and you must know, a sick husband is worst than a sick baby. ![]() So, it means I will stay with no money while his account is flourishing? And what about the baby? Will we go to buy diapers or a cough syrup and will pay based on the ratio? It doesn't make any sense to me, as everyone I know who has kids they put both salaries together and budget everything from there. So my husband said, in this case we would calculate the ratio of the salaries and based on this ratio we would contribute to the family budget. But if I had a baby I would like to switch to a part-time job, so I can spend more time with the baby and do stuff at home, but I will make less money. It is perfectly fine in the situation we are now. We have a budget for our expenses and we put 50/50 every month. It looks like everything is perfect: my husband isn't against a baby but what upsets me is the financial part of our relationship. Before, I was sure if I get pregnant I'll abort, but hormones made its magic and now I want to be a mom. ![]() Unfortunately, it was an ectopic pregnancy without possibility of keeping the baby. We were living a perfect child-free life with my husband till I got pregnant.
